Summary: The accused while in her duties as a Senior Clerical Officer attached to Butali Law courts was accused of improperly requesting and receiving a bribe from the complainant in order to fast track the processing of court proceedings which he had already paid for. The complainant made a report to the EACC who using treated money laid a trap for the accused and nabbed her as she received the bribe. The court in considering the evidence before it found the accused guilty of all the charges and accordingly convicted her.
